G&F x Kehoe DesignsBetween over-shopping and cocktail parties overload, it can be challenging to spread holiday cheer that doesn’t get lost in the festive shuffle. Here at G&F we’re all about making the most of this magical season. We signed up the like-minded, brilliant designers behind Kehoe Designs to give us three DIY’s to amp up a classic holiday soiree. Go all out at your next party or simply be inspired to spruce up tired home decor. But trust us, we think these projects are the perfect excuse to throw a get-together and impress your friends—without the fruitcake and bad holiday sweaters!
Most of the materials needed for these DIY’s can be picked up at your local craft store, and feel free to inject your style with added accoutrements to really make them your own. Watch along as Kehoe event producer Joshua Jones walks us through three festive DIY’s—glittered bar signage, an ombré spritz and wintry cloche centerpiece.

How do you capture the spirit of the holidays? In a cozy terrarium centerpiece, of course! This DIY is the easiest to make your own and to add your essence of holiday nostalgia. Use a wood plaque as the base, then adorn with loose cotton batting, oh-so-easy sparkly paper trees and glittered succulents. Take it from us—you’ll want to glitter every succulent you see after seeing how simple it is to up the style-quotient for your potted friends. For some extra polish, add a glass cloche, which can be purchased at home goods stores like World Market or Pier 1. Whether you’re bringing as a housewarming gift or keeping for your own home, each design will capture the imagination of a perfectly snowy Holiday landscape.

Wow your guests with a cocktail that not only tastes amazing, but looks amazing. The ombré spritz features muddled berries, lemon juice, prosecco and Cocchi Americano. Don’t know the last ingredient? You should. A delicious aperitif wine that’s perfect on ice—and has the perfect holiday color to boot! Then just add larger than life garnish! Sans spice and cream, this blackberry spritz is a refreshing take on a holiday cocktail. Ditch the egg nog this year, and opt for a lighter—but not less festive!—option.
Want more out of your bar? The classic spritz is a perfect base to go hog wild for the holidays. No need to be a master mixologist, just keep these three basics in mind. First, the more bubbles, the better. Stock up on prosecco and sparkling water. Second, keep a bottle of Aperol, Campari or other classic Italian apertifs in the cabinet for a quick jolt of style for last minute guests. And lastly, garnish is key! Pile on the citrus and berries—or add a square of blue cheese, olives and a potato chip to complete the aperitivo vibe.

Peace! Merry! Joy! Transform standard papier maché, wooden or cardboard letters from the craft store into a stylish holiday mantra. We’re staying true to the classic crimson roots of the season with a bold red paint paired with an iridescent sparkle. Place these painted and glittered letters atop your bar cart for added joy to all—plus a perfect roadmap for guests to find their way to the bubbles. Be it “Joy” or “Tipsy”—make it your own with your favorite celebratory expression.
