At the Trump Organization, which she joined in 2005, Ivanka oversees the real estate and hotel management platforms. In 2007 she launched her eponymous line of fine jewelry, adding to it footwear and handbags a few years later, outerwear in 2011, and apparel early this year. She also appears on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice. Business-savvy like her father and gorgeous like her mother, Ivanka has got it all, likely because she always keeps one invaluable piece of advice in mind: hard work never goes out of style. In honor of Mother’s Day, Ivanka gives us a further look into her ever-elegant lifestyle for this week’s spotlight.

Q: Working with family: a blessing or a curse?
A: I love working with my father! I’ve learned a great deal from him over the years: always be prepared. Work hard. Create a strong and consistent identity, your name and reputation are your best assets. I couldn’t ask for a better mentor.
Q: Speaking of family, how has having a child changed the way your work?
A: It’s definitely a balancing act! I try to do as much as I can while accommodating Arabella’s needs.
Q: What are your plans for Mother’s Day?
A: I’d love to spend time with my family. It is an incredibly important holiday to me, being my first year as a Mother to Arabella.
Q: Changing gears a little, let’s talk about your jewelry line. Play favorites: which piece can you never take off?
A: A fabulous pair of earrings that can go from the office to a night out are an absolute necessity! My favorites are the Medium Signature Oval Diamond Earrings—they really make a statement (pictured right).
Q: They’re gorgeous! What is your overall style philosophy?
A: I beleive that personal style can best be descirbed as carrying yourself elegantly. It is the ability to walk into any situation with a strong sense of confidence and know you are in control, all while carrying yourself in a refined manner.
Q: Do you have a fashion icon? A beauty icon?
A: Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.
Q: Both exude elegance, as do you. You’ve expanded your line into many arenas lately; what is next for you?
A: I am going to be launching a fragrance line and sunglass collection later this year.
Q: With so much at your fingertips, is there anything you find you are always searching for?
A: Children’s clothing for Arabella!
