GaranceDoré.comWe’re talking about the most wonderful time of the year with the most wonderful woman of the web. Garance Doré is an illustrator, photographer, French blogger and all around media maven—often credited for propelling the “street style” movement. Garance has paved the way for digital partnerships within the fashion industry, working with luxury fashion houses like Dior and Louis Vuitton. Oh, and did we mention she also has a monthly column in Vogue Paris! Her candid posts, engaging updates and ravishing photography on her self-titled domain name created a new-age lifestyle brand oozing inspiration and tenets of French style. While in town being honored at the Museum of Science and Industry for her innovative contributions to style and design with the Museum’s first Fashion Inspiration Award, we took the liberty to pick her beautiful brain on all things Holiday. We can’t get enough of this—pardon our French—bad ass babe. Read on to see Garance’s beauty picks, holiday gifting tips and what’s on her humble wishlist.

With a background in fashion, photography + design, you must be one heck of a gift giver—What are the rules of gift giving?
My favorite thing to do is to go for a precious object that is vintage like a very special wine carafe or brass objects.
And your gift wrap style?
I’m very good at working with what I have around. I’m crafty, so I can make wrapping paper out of anything.
Most thoughtful gift you’ve ever received?
Too hard to pick one!
The Holiday season is a flurry of festive events—describe your Holiday style.
Very upstate, like countryside.
Let’s talk Holiday beauty. What is your go-to look?
Simple, elegant makeup with a good lip color—like NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Mysterious Red.
What’s the one Holiday event or gathering that you look forward to most every year?
Thanksgiving. Like every American. I’ve learned to love it. I spend Thanksgiving with friends, and for someone who doesn’t have their parents close, it’s really nice.
Any quirky Holiday traditions in your family?
We roast some Coriscan sausage in the chimney while singing Corsican songs.
What’s your wishlist this year?
I would love a spa treatment at Shibui Spa, some surfing gear for my trip to Costa Rica, art books, some nice French cheese and a lamp for my apartment.
How will you spend the Holidays this year?
I’ll be in Virginia and then Costa Rica, so very far from fashion and beauty. I wish that for everyone!
