THE LURE: Renowned French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten—you know you have smacked your lips on one of his plates at The Mercer Kitchen or Spice Market in New York City—was the toast of the town for his brand new book, Home Cooking with Jean-Georges: My Favorite Simple Recipes. Hotelier Ian Schrager rounded up his favorite foodies and fashionistas in the Library at the Public Chicago to raise a glass to the innovative chef. We digested our hors d’oeuvres (Compliments to Executive Chef Bradford Phillips!) and ran home to try our hand at one of Vongerichten’s surprisingly readable at-home recipes.
