PARTY: FashioNext Finale
VENUE: Chicago History Museum
DATE: Thursday, April 30
THE LURE: For area teens with a passion for fashion, no other program than Chicago History Museum’s FashioNext competition could quench their thirst for thrilling design. After nearly three months of working on their award hopeful designs—learn about the program by watching this G&F film—all students, staff and mentors were invited to see which look, inspired by a piece in the Chicago Styled exhibit, was the big winner. Students sipped mocktails, donned fashion-themed tattoos and posed with paper accessories in an always-busy photo booth. Local design superstar Azeeza Khan, who donated extra fabric for the competition, was the keynote speaker, providing words of wisdom for the fashion hopefuls. While the students from Niles North High School’s Careful Chaos team took home first place, spirits were high celebrating style in all forms. >>
