THE LURE: Local charity stars A Better Chicago—whose mission is to invest in non-profits aimed at providing opportunities for low income areas—partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue on a spectacular event. The guest of honor? The queen bee of sophisticated feminine design: Caroline Herrera. Dressed in shimmering red with her iconic swept blonde hair, the Venezuelan-American designer showed her Fall 2013 collection to a full house at Terzo Piano at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago. Notables such as Lynne Bredfeldt of the Park Hyatt Chicago and Samantha Berngard of Suntimes Splash magazine attended the charity event whose sold out show raised over $35,000.
