We’re getting topsy-turvy with fitness prowess Cat Aldana. And since we’re focusing on finding balance and creating our inner conviction this Spring, who better to inspire than someone who gets all tangled up to achieve stability. Cat is a queen of the silks at AIR Aerial Fitness. AIR combines elements of yoga, ballet and pilates on aerial silk hammocks to strengthen, lengthen and tone. This full body workout kicks your abs into gear while toning and sculpting all those little muscles your forgot you had—and boy, does she make it look easy!


I instantly fell in love with how pretty the silks are and how it makes everything you do look so beautiful–even if you’re falling.” Explains Cat. The seasoned yoga instructor has been swinging and slinging the way of the silk for a little over two years, and we just can’t get enough of her lively and positive ‘tude.  She’s even admitted to reenacting Miley’s infamous Wrecking Ball routine on the silks–who can blame her?! And you can even follow her AIR playlist on Spotify, featuring jams from Zendaya and throwbacks from Lumidee.

Although beautiful, staring at the long suspended silks can be intimidating. But we love the idea of finding peace and grounding in the air, so we stepped into the studio with Cat to unlock some newfound confidence upside down. We channeled a little Peter Pan and a little Cirque du Soleil for some fitness fun and a whole lot of giggles. Watch Cat demonstrate elegant poses—with grace and ease!—and teach us how to flip into a new perspective paired with a rush of blood to the head.
