Earlier this month, we debuted our Men’s Fall + Holiday fashion story. East London meets West in this prep school display of layered textures and dressed-up duds all washed down with an undeniably cool demeanor. To prep for this shoot, groomer Kristina Feyerherm lined up her skin and hair care essentials to create an effortless and radiant look for our two models. The result? Barely there style with the perfect products to form just the right amount of regimen for your morning routine.
We chat with the accomplished hair and make up artist to snag what’s in her bag. Ladies, listen up, we see five easy Holiday presents for the gents in your life. They can thank us later. >>
For the hair:
To achieve the not-too-kept-but-not-too-loose hairstyle of our guys, Kristina applied Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray [A]. The Argan Oil—which is an age old beauty fave—keeps hair soft and with a medium hold, hairstyles can be easily manipulated for effortless, shiny locks. To create the lived in look of these East London prep school drop-outs, Kristina relied on Bumble and Bumble’s Hairdresser’s Invisble Oil [E]. The result? No more frizz and flyaways to keep your coif, well, coiffed.
For the skin:
Before beginning any work on the skin, Kristina recommends regular exfoliation. Even for the guys. Kristina’s go-to? Origins’ Modern Friction [B] for a nonabrasive exfoliation two to three times a week. For our shoot, we wanted a dewey glow on the skin to keep the gents youthful and fresh faced. Korres Greek Yoghurt Moisturizing Face Cream [C] did the trick. The multi-purpose moisturizer provides amazing hydration mixed with properties to heal and plump. Plus, Kristina says it’s great protection from the cold winter ahead. But to keep a healthy shine throughout the long shoot day, Kristina’s secret? Lucas’ Papaw Ointment [D]. “This is a staple in my kit that gets used on every one of my clients in some way or another,” she admits. It’s another multipurpose product to prep lips, heal chapped skin and in G&F’s case: a small amount tapped onto the cheekbones to give skin a healthy, holiday glow.
