Sep 26, 2013 >> Upping the Dosage! Dose Market’s revamp
A monthly staple in the fashion and beauty community—heck, a monthly staple in the anyone-who-is-cool community—is upping the ante for the Holiday season. And we’re stocked. Dose Market, led by the va-va-vivacious April Francis, is moving locations from River East Arts Center to the brand new Chop Shop. G&F toured the Chop Shop space last night. Our verdict? Perfect match. The brand new space boasts a full service deli, bar & restaurant and a 500-capacity event space called First Ward. And did we mention it’s smack-dab in Wicker Park? But the change in location is not even the ‘upping the ante’ part. The once-monthly pop-up market is going in hyperdrive to deliver serious style every Sunday this season.
Dose delivers a weekly market this coming Sunday through December 15 that will feature a more curated selection of cool finds. With each market having its own special feel and offering up the city’s best local talents, the weekly party is not-to-be-missed (and with a handy new $30 “season pass”, the Dosers are making it very easy for you). We’re especially looking forward to meeting NYC street style icon Tziporah Salamon at her October 13th appearance. And we hear that there will be something unexpectedly unique at each market (a DIY or a freebie, perhaps?!). April, that whiz of blonde hair that runs the joint, somehow finds time to shop the market, too—”Dose is smart shopping for the busy Chicagoan,” she says.
So let’s back up: A souped up weekly Dose at the brand new First Ward space with a full kitchen and bar and the best of the best of uber-cool vendors? This is definitely a win-win-win situation.
Get Dosed every Sunday through December 15. The Dose Redux opens this Sunday, September 29 from 10AM to 4PM at Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Avenue. Visit DoseMarket.com for tickets and more details.
