Jun 11, 2013 >> #5MinutesWith: SNL’s Aidy Bryant and her Nail Art
We’ve been big fans of Saturday Night Live’s Aidy Bryant since she was a rising star in Chicago improv scene, making appearances at The Annoyance Theatre and Second City’s e.t.c. stage. The funny lady just completed her first year as a SNL cast member (One of our faves this season? This bloody good sketch featuring Aidy and Kristen Wiig.), and she’s back in Chicago this week with SNL costars Cecily Strong and Tim Robinson to perform in Knuckleheads, a sketch show that’s part of the TBS Just For Laughs comedy festival. (Get tickets here! If you go to the show, make sure to check out Aidy’s nails. As her Instagram followers know, this lady loves nail art. And we love the designs she picks for her digits. So much so, that we had ask her to choose her top five nail looks—directly from her Instagram feed—and tell us all about them!
ONE
“My friend and fellow Chicago-to-NYC-transplant started an awesome nail wraps company called Rad Nails. I love these cut outs because you can paint your nails whatever color your want and add the stickers. I’m also a big fan of their pizza slice cut outs!”
TWO
“These Marc By Marc Jacobs nail wraps were one of my favorites. Pretty much anything gold and shiny is good with me.”
THREE
“I got these done at Valley Nails in NYC, it’s my go-to spot for nail art. Their Instagram is a great place to get inspiration.”
FOUR
“I did these myself using Japanese washi tape. Let’s just say the left hand looked a lot better than the right.”
FIVE
“Valley Nails! Part of what I love about nail art is that you can bring a little humor to your outfit. Not to mention the girls at Valley didn’t even bat an eye when I asked for bear heads on ice cream cones.”
Aidy performs in Knuckleheads June 13–15 at UP Comedy Club. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
