May 28, 2013 >> Nailed It! Three Go-To Shades for Summer Nails

So you think you know summer nail colors? Think again! Yes, summer manis over the past couple of years usually end with a bright (or even neon) polish—and that’s totally fine for this year. But don’t be afraid to try something different, too. The spring runways featured nails coated in shades of whites, blood reds and pale colors. Nail polish is one of the easiest ways to make a fashion statement—and these fresh hues will keep you on trend on even the hottest summer night.

Summer Nail Polish Trends White Nails

This clean color can be worn alone—or add a little nail art on a digit or two for some added whimsy.

Summer Nail Polish Trends Red Nails

Don’t cover your all of your nails in this rich color—that will look too fall-ish. Instead, just add a splash of blood-red polish on the nail (by dipping a fine-tip striper brush into the bottle and then allowing the polish to drip down the nail) to create a look Sookie from True Blood would be proud of.

In addition to white, barely there colors (think nudes and even light pastels) are big this season, and come in a variety of hue options.
