Dec 11, 2012 >> Gift Guide: Candace Jordan
Arguably the sweetest social butterfly in Chicago, Candace Jordan has got her finger on the pulse of society. Her blog,Candid Candace, features the who’s-who, the to-do’s and must-go’s in the city and with one flash of that signature smile, we can’t help but fall in love each time we see her out and about.
We catch Candace while she has some downtime—which is rare!—to share her Holiday Gift Guide with G&F. See her girly picks below.
A. HELLO MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION
Forget People, US Weekly and all of those other national gossip mags, this one is international and has all the news that’s fit to print with the best photos!
B. CARON POWDER PUFFS
My husband Chuck and I discovered these at one of the first Caron shops in Paris many years ago. They will spoil you forever and their beautiful colors make this item a lovely gift for any occasion.
C. BORRIS POWELL HANDBAG
I love this designer and I love his oversized handbag! Its design is simple yet effective and functional.
D. BCBG QUINN FEATHER CLUTCH
I’m a sucker for feathers and love the Alexander McQueen-inspired knuckle-handle (sans the price!).
E. LOUIS VUITTON STEPHEN SPROUSE LEOPARD SCARF
I bought one years ago and I wear it constantly. The frayed ends look even better over time and leopard never goes out of style!
F. COMMON THREADS’ EAT THE WORLD COOKBOOK
These recipes are prepared by the kids of Common Threads in its after-school cooking program and it makes a great stocking stuffer for $25!
G. CANDID CANDACE LIPSTICK BY CAMP COSMETICS
It’s the perfect shade of coral! The entire CAMP line is great, too, but I feel a little partial to this particular item!
H. ROBERT SABUDA CHRISTMAS POP-UP BOOKS
I collect first edition books and I love pop-up books, especially by master paper engineers Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart. Signed ones are the best but their artistry alone makes this a perfect holiday gift for young or old.
Also on Candace’s Holiday list? Anything from LUXURY GARAGE SALE and of course, a donation to charity. Some of her favorite causes? Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana; PAWS Chicago, Young at Heart Pet Rescue; The Joffrey Ballet; Toys for Tots; Salvation Army; Misericordia; Common Threads; Service Club of Chicago… this list goes on and on!
