Red is the color of the season. This semi-matte Bobbi Brown lip color gives brilliant saturated coverage for long-lasting wear. Want to add a little more shine? Pair with a gloss for a dose of vintage Hollywood starlet.
BEST PICK-ME-UP: Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, $45
Clarins national make up artist Christopher Truffa calls it ‘Caffeine for your skin.’ This lightweight product provides instant radiance and tightening at the dreaded 3.00pm hour at work. It also can be used as a mask as well as a primer to balance out and battle harsh fluorescent and spotlighting.
BEST NAIL COLORS: Bobbi Brown Turquoise Nail Polish, $18 & YSL Khaki Arty Nail Polish, $25
This fall, we’re in love with this deep, bold turquoise from Bobbi Brown and YSL’s simple but sophisticated taupe goes with everything.
BEST EYELINERS: Clarins 3-dot Eyeliner, $26 [TOP] & NARS Stylo Liquid Eyeliner, $27 [BOTTOM]
Clarins’ trident tip liner offers the best precision control we’ve seen in a long while. Plus, with just a quick flick at the end you can transition your look from day to night easily. NARS’ simple liquid eyeliner is a no fuss applicator is divine. Our favorite color? A deep, smoky black.
BEST TECHNOLOGY: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, $42
It’s two in one! A perfect primer to smooth and prep skin paired with the properties of your best concealers, softening dark spots and fine lines. We’re mystified at how well this works.
BEST INDULGENCE: Chantecaille Hi Definition Perfecting Powder, $72
Specifically designed for HD Cameras, Chantecaille combines awesome technology with a formula that is weightless and works with all skin types. Oh, and do we even have to mention that the packaging is oh-so-chic?
BEST EYE OPENER: Rodial Dragon Blood Eye Gel, $50
If you can get past the whole Dragon’s Blood thing (we’re talking the botanical, not the fire breathing kind), this cooling eye gel is the perfect refresher for weary eyes. The gentle touch of rose water is a lovely surprise.
BEST TRIED & TRUE: Dior Diorshow Iconic Mascara, $28.50
For the perfectly lush and sexy eyes, Diorshow Iconic mascara is our go-to every time. Created specifically to exaggerate and plump the lashes, you can now re-create your most memorable catwalk moments right at your own vanity.
BEST NEW ARRIVAL: Shinto Clinical Micro Manage Exfoliating Treatment, $59
Developed by Kimora Lee Simmons, Shinto Clinical packs a punch when it comes to complex skincare products that won’t beat up your bank account. We loved her Micro Manage exfoliator—add an instant radiant glow to your face.
BEST MONEY SAVE: Oscar Blandi Root Touch Up, $23
The best $23 you’ll spend in your life. Extend the length in between hair coloring appointments by temporarily disguising your roots. It also covers, gasp!, your greys.
BEST MOISTURIZER: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, $25
Accept no substitutes. Our favorite moisturizer is a perfect neutral leaving no greasy after effects or unwanted shine.
BEST EYESHADOW: Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Luminous Eyeshadow, $36
We can’t get enough of this gel texture eyeshadow (which can be worn as an eyeshadow or, surprise!, an eyeliner). And can we talk about the colors? We love Ebloui [PICTURED]. A close second and third? The dark emerald Epatant and Illusoire, a smoky, dreamy grey.
