Glossed and Found

Aug 13, 2012 >> Picnic Pretty! We’ve got your style guide for end-of-summer fun.

Dare we say it… the final days of summer are upon us. And instead of featuring a G&F Jet Set elsewhere, why don’t you stay put and enjoy your city! This week in our G&F Interview with Bike-a-Bee, we partake in one of our favorite warm-weather pastimes: the picnic. If you’re scrambling to knock off activities on your seasonal bucket list, G&F has made planning for a picnic that much easier (and chicer!). Grab your wicker basket, maxi dress and a worthy date to take in some last minute summer culture and laid-back al fresco dining. And read below the break for our must-see end of summer events to put your style to good use!

ONE >> Chalina Silk Walter Dress by Calypso St. Barth, $395
Comfort is key when choosing a picnic-friendly look. This maxi dress is fuss-free and the snakeskin and ombre print can easily go from day-to-night.

TWO >> Lomography La Sardina Flash DXL Analogue Camera, $110
We always like to take pictures when we have a bit of a tan. Add in this sleek plastic camera that produces some very fun shots and you’ll want it at every event. Plus, it’s just so darn good looking.

THREE >> Black Beauty Embroidered Cover Edition, $16
Artist Jillian Tamaki reinvisions this Penguin Classic with stunning new embroidered cover art that is sure to turn heads.

FOUR >> Sprout Bookmark Set, $8
You’ve got the book, and we love these little playful sprouts to help keep you in place.

FIVE >> Bamboo 21-piece insulated picnic basket at Bed, Bath & Beyond, $39.99
This traditional wicker-style basket has everything you need and can serve up to four people. Oh, and for just under $40, it won’t break the bank either.

SIX >> Rouge Pur Couture Vernis a Levres Glossy Stain in Rouge Laque, $32
Keep this rich color handy for a transition from laid-back picnic to on-the-town drinks. And with the final days of summer winding down, it’s the perfect time to experiment with bright, cherry colors on the lips, our favorite Fall trend.

SEVEN >> Aqua Beach Blanket at Jayson Home, $150
Forget that red & white checked number, opp for something a little more chic for your derrière. 100% cotton fabric makes it easy to clean, too!

EIGHT >> Capistrano by Brixton, $50
This Panama-inspired hat is a perfect neutral accessory.

NINE >> Eau Rose Roll-on by diptyque, $48
Always take time to smell the roses—even the ones you bring. This stunning scent is the perfect addition to add a little extra floral notes to the city’s green scene.

Now you’ve got the look, but no place to go? No need to fret. We’ve got our favorite picnic-friendly events just for you:
