Aug 10, 2012 >> Get the Look! Macy’s Glamorama hops the pond & we have a first look at the Lancôme look for tonight

It’s Macy’s Glamorama time! You know, that huge, annual event that packs the house for a no holds barred fashion show—which includes, among other things, a quite memorable male underwear section—all benefitting the Ronald McDonald’s House. It’s tonight! And although the underwear component usually catches our attention, we always first fall in love with the beauty looks for the night. Lancôme national make up artist Alex Sanchez returns to Glamorama to build the beauty for the show. This year, Macy’s hops the pond, so Alex takes a cue from Twiggy to create a brit-tastic look with Lancôme products. And we’re giving you a first look before the show tonight.

“I adore the transformation and strong graphic aesthetic of the 60’s with it’s nude lips, cut out creases and winged out eyeliner,” Alex says. He shared a sketch of his UK muse and we asked him to translate this strong runway look to something a little more wearable—perhaps while you’re shopping the Lancôme counter at Macy’s?

Here’s how to Get the Look:

ONE >> Prime eyelids with AQUATIQUE EYECOLOR BASE. 

TWO >> Apply LANCÔME 5 PAN PALETTE in TAUPE CRAZE [TWO].
Alex’s tip: This is my go-to palette for smoky eyes. The colors are numbered with a color-coded fold-out brochure to ensure expert placement and application. You can’t make a mistake. I call it Eyeshadow with Training Wheels!

Sweep vanilla All-Over Base Shade No. 1 across entire eyelid and up towards the brow bone.

Apply shimmer with Lid Shade No. 2 across lower lid and blend up toward the crease.

Contour with taupe Crease Shade No. 3 in the outer corner of eye.
Alex’s tip: Be sure to keep eye open to maintain a lifted effect.

Add sparkle to inner corner of eye with Highlighting Shade No. 4.

Wet a liner brush and trace your upper and lower lashlines with Eyeliner Shade No. 5
Alex’s tip: For extra flair, curl lashes with Lancôme le Curler

THREE >> Prime lashes with OSCILLATION POWERBOOSTER MASCARA.

FOUR >> Define lashes with HYPNOSE DOLL LASHES MASCARA.

FIVE >> Finish eyes with an bold statement of INK ARTLINER CALLIGRAPHY GEL EYELINER in BLACK FISHNETS on top.

For cheeks, use ILLUMINATING BLUSH PALETTE in ROUGE ALLURE. For lips, ROUGE IN LOVE LIPCOLOR in 200B LASTING KISS.
