Glossed and Found

Jul 19, 2012 >> Surprise! Jouer Cosmetics finds your next favorite beauty products

In this week’s G&F Interview, we’ve introduced you to the beauty behind Jouer Cosmetic, Christina Zilber. We had the not-to-be-missed opportunity to sit down with Christina at a breakfast at the Public hotel to celebrate the launch of her line at Nordstrom in Chicago (set to debut on Friday, January 20). Also at the breakfast was Jouer’s national make up artist Neil Scibelli. We called on Neil to share some of his favorite Jouer products for the summer season.

Buyer Beware! If Neil’s tips and tricks don’t make you fall in love, his smile will. NYC-based and in LA often, Neil provides the perfect balance to round out your beauty regimen.

ONE >> Luminizing Moisture Tint, $38
A favorite—and Allure ‘Best of Beauty’ award winner—that ensures sheer coverage, SPF 20 protection and built in moisturizers.

This oil-free tinted moisturizer is great for summer because it will give your complexion an even glow while protecting from the sun. For easy, on-the-go application, I recommend applying LMT with your fingertips.

TWO >> Sunshine Bronzer, $28
My favorite tip for a sun-kissed glow is applying Sunshine Bronzer on the cheeks as a blush. It’s perfect for those who don’t want an obvious red or pink blush but rather a golden natural flush of color. The fine shimmer also adds a sheer highlight to the cheeks.

Apply Sunshine with a blush brush on the apples of the cheeks and blend outwards.

THREE >> Essential Matte Touch, $26
The oil-absorbing Essential Matte Touch is the ultimate shine defense in the summer months. It’s perfect for “mattifying” the t-zone area throughout the day and is a great alternative to blotting paper. The formula contains willow bark extract (a natural derivative of salicylic acid), which is calming for oily/problem skin. Use your fingers or a sponge to apply it where needed.

FOUR & FIVE >> Moisturizing Lip Gloss, $20, in Malibu (four) and Hamptons (five)
A battle of the coasts! Jouer’s non-stick lip glosses contain moisturizing ingredients like shea butter & jojoba seed oil which are great for bringing moisture back into the lips after being exposed to the sun. For a more natural/nude look, Hampton’s gloss is a sheer tangerine color. For a pop of pink, I recommend using Malibu.

[Editor’s note: G&F favors the Hamptons. But don’t tell Malibu.]

SIX >> Chocolate Eye Definer, $20
The long-wearing eye liner works fantastic in the summer heat for its smudge proof formula. I like using the ‘Chocolate’ color because it’s not as harsh as a black, yet it still defines the eyes. I recommend applying it on the top and lower lids, right along the lash line. You can also smudge it out with a definer brush for a smoky effect.

SEVEN >> Powder Eye Shadows, $20, in Caramel (shown) and Pink Champagne
These eye shadows have a silky finish, and are the perfect summer colors for everyday wear. The mineral pigments ensure long wear, without creasing. Caramel is a sheer gold color, and can be worn all over the lid. Pink Champagne is a soft shimmering pink. Both shadows can be worn alone or with Jouer’s long-wearing eye definers.
