Lubov Azria, the creative mind behind the BCBG brands, lit up the city on Saturday night as she gathered Chicago’s finest to get a peek at the BCBGMAXAZRIA Pre-Fall collection before a very fun dinner at Floating World Gallery in Lincoln Park. We caught up with the stunning beauty after dinner and talked color-blocking, dancing (she’s a sucker for a fun night out) and finding inspiration during her travels. Considering the Pre-Fall collection is a very obvious nod to her Russian roots, we couldn’t help but fall in love with her worldly advice:
“For me, travel brings on inspiration,” Lubov said. “Art, architecture, and installations from all over the world inspire me to think outside the box and play with different elements to create new and innovative designs. I recently discovered a complete masterpiece in Seville, Spain. It is a waffle-like crown architectural structure located at Plaza de la Encarnación and is the world’s largest wooden structure. Absolutely stunning.”
So what’s Lubov’s 411 on travel style?
“I have to be comfortable when I travel so I always gravitate to an airy, simple yet chic dress. You can never go wrong with a combination of pleats and color-blocking—they lend a cutting-edge effect to fluid, comfortable silhouettes. I always like to add a little playful personality with stand-out, bright accessories too”.
We’re taking her tips and found some favorite pieces to share with you about the perfect outfit for the perfect outting to Lubov’s newest find: the Seville’s Metropol Parasol in Plaza de la Encarnación (see image above).
