SAMPLE LOOKS FROM CAKESTYLE.COM AND CAP-TOE SHOE ROUND UP ON THE CAKESTYLE BLOG.
CAKESTYLE >> Let’s be honest, we all flip through the occasional gossip magazine. Whether it’s to get the dirt on our favorite celeb or, most often, just to see what they’re wearing. Our casual flip-through usually ends with us lamenting that we don’t have our own personal stylist. Ladies, fret no more! Cecelia Myers, CEO and co-founder of CakeStyle, has all of your styling solutions.
Cecelia created CakeStyle, a Chicago-based company, which sets clients up with their own stylist. The process is simple: You sign up for the service at CakeStyle.com and give your measurements and style preferences. You are then matched with a stylist who hand picks looks which are shipped directly to your door, complete with a video of how to wear each outfit (jewelry included!). And you only pay for what you keep. Send everything else back on the pre-paid slip.
“We curate for the clients already,” Cecelia says, “They love the idea of working with an expert, but no one says, ‘You have to buy this!’ You keep what you like and you can try it on in front of your boyfriend or your friends and make sure you want it.” Oh Cecelia, where have you been all our lives?
The fashionably classic yet eclectic CEO’s style is as smart as her business sense. “I do a lot of layering and my brands represent that.” CakeStyle carries brands like Milly, Theory, Elie Tahari, DVF, Citizen’s of Humanity and (our fave!) Rachel Roy. As for her personal style? “I have an affinity for things that are a bit weird, like skulls and spikes. Milly is classic and feminine but you can pair it with skulls and make it edgy,” Cecelia says. G&F loves a woman who knows how to keep their fashion interesting and eccentric.
