Feb 16, 2012 >> A Mute Point: Suitor’s Jessica Murnane builds three beautiful color stories for your Big Day
Jessica Murnane’s inspired line of stationery and paper goods Suitor is a source of constant inspiration for G&F—not to mention Jessica’s own casual cool demeanor and killer style. As we venture into G&F Weddings Week, we called Color Challenge! on Jessica. It’s her playful and bold use of color that has us constantly amazed (who knew that mustard yellow and a soft purple could be such good friends) so we asked her to share some unexpected color pairings found in equally unexpected places.
Snag these artfully curated muted color palettes for your own big day.
Bonkers for Bauhaus // Inspiration from Art
I love the work of Laszlo Moholy-Nagy. A great combination of soft and heavy—but together still feels ethereal. A Sunday trip to the museum can be a great inspiration trip. These colors are perfect for an outdoor wedding in the Spring. From floral to paper goods: beautiful.

Judging A Book By Its Cover // Inspiration from your library & home
I am a sucker for vintage book covers. The color combinations are always dramatic, playful or just plain pretty. It’s so easy to draw inspiration from these vintage gems that it makes it hard to choose. Maybe choose a book that was given to you by your fiancé or you read during the time you first met. And if it isn’t on your own shelf, there are numerous books on great book cover designers. Born Modern (about Alvin Lustig) is one of my favorites. Perfect for a bright, sunny, summer wedding.

Paris Is For Lovers // Inspiration from Travels Together / Nature
I spotted this tree on a recent trip to Paris and immediately grabbed a shot of it. The textures and layers tell such a cool story. I wasn’t sure what I would use it for at the time but wanted to keep it on file. Old vacation photos are the perfect place to find inspiration for your wedding. You might be surprised what you find. Perfect for a dark, romantic evening reception.
