Holly picks her favorite eye makeup colors

There are many choices when it comes to eye makeup colors. Even as a professional, I get sensory over-load walking through any cosmetics department. I always go with a list in hand. But there are many staples I’ve discovered in my years of trial and error that are my favorites (both by MAC Cosmetics!) and always in my personal stash of makeup.

ONE >> TEMPTING EYESHADOW BY MAC
Hold on to your hats, I am going to dispel the myth that frosted eye colors are not appropriate for a mature eye. First off, whoever said this should explain what ages ‘mature’ covers! When used properly, a frost can be the best compliment to any eye at any age. One frost in particular I can’t do without is MAC’s Tempting eye shadow. It’s a gorgeous bronze without the orange undertone that you’ll find in a lot of bronzes. I use this color a lot for myself when I’m in a hurry but want to look like I spent some time on my eyes. You can literally just swipe this color across your bottom lids and be good to go—but here’s a hint: A little goes a long way.

TWO >> POWERSURGE EYELINER BY MAC
This is one eyeliner I cannot live without. Powersurge by MAC is a bronzey-brown with gold in it. It’s the perfect compliment with every eye color, appropriate for day or night, and it glides on smoothly without tugging on the delicate skin around the eye area.
