WEDDING DRESS DESIGNER PETER LANGNER VISITS ULTIMATE BRIDE
Talk about Ooo’s & Ahh’s—World renowned wedding dress designer Peter Langner is in town for a trunk show at Ultimate Bride through Saturday. Langner has trained with the fashion houses of Emanuel Ungaro, Christian LaCroix and Christian Dior. He’s not fooling around, people. We had the opportunity to catch up with the talented designer who was eager to share his love for the perfect gown and the perfect city (yes, Chicago!).
Q: What brings you to Chicago?
A:I have been collaborating with Elena at Ultimate Bride for years. Before being partners, we have been very good friends for a long time. We always have fun when working together. Things feel lighter and lighter when you have fun while you work—you don’t feel tired and you can’t get bored.
Q: Is Chicago one of your favorite stops?
A: I love every corner of this city. It is so charming. You smell elegance everywhere you go. I feel at home when I am in Chicago—especially when I am with Elena and her staff. They are all so lovely!
Q: When picking out a wedding dress, what advice do you give your brides?
A: Everyone will look at them on the grand day. It will be their day! And they must feel special. Unique. In their own style. They don’t have to pretend to be anybody other than themselves. I always suggest to get in touch with their inner feelings and desires. It is not easy to find the right gown, but thanks to great service and attention to detail (and some very special fittings of some very special gowns, you know…) it’s easier! And then the dream turns into reality!
Q: Can you name a favorite from your Spring collection?
A: I do love everyone of them. Everyone has its own soul. Everyone comes from a very unique inspiration. If I must choose though, maybe my favorite is Purcell (PICTURED ABOVE]. Why? Have a look at it on a model. It is so sexy and elegant—exactly like Chicago women are.
